As of October 2018, it is the third longest operational metro network in India after the Delhi Metro and Hyderabad Metro. On the other hand, Namma Metro was ranked the 83rd largest metro system in terms of length and the 79th largest metro network in terms of number of operating stations in the world. It also contains the first underground metro line in South India. The metro network consists of two colour-coded lines, with a total length of 42.3 kilometres serving 41 stations. The system has a mix of underground, at-grade, and elevated stations using standard-gauge tracks. The metro has an average daily ridership of 315,000 passengers. By 2023, the system is expected to complete its phase 2 network and provide connectivity to the city’s important tech hubs of Electronics City and Whitefield. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL), a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka, built and operates the Namma Metro. Namma Metro was the second rail transport system in India to use 750V DC third rail traction, the first being the Kolkata Metro.

Tata Steel has started working on the ground on its expansion at the greenfield Kalinganagar plant in Odisha in April this year. After full ramp-up to eight million tonnes, Tata Steel hopes the Kalinganagar plant with its diversified and enriched product mix to fetch better margins and be more cost-effective than the Jamshedpur facility. The expansion is expected to be completed in 48 months. The key takeaway of Tata Steel’s second phase expansion is the establishment of a cold rolling mill to exclusively cater to the need of the automotive sector. At Kalinganagar, the steel company is looking to tap emerging, value-added products and segments like construction & projects, pre-engineered buildings, oil & gas, lifting and excavation and shipbuilding. Also, the company has approvals from a leading oil marketing company for the supply of API grade steel. The steelmaker has also established itself as a major player in the large diameter pipeline segment through Kalinganagar.

Union Minister for road transport & highways, shipping and water resources Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis laid the foundation stone for an international cruise terminal in Mumbai in January 2018. Spread over 4.15 lakh square feet, the terminal is being built with a capacity to host 700,000 passengers. The terminal is expected to be ready by 2019. The aim is to make this place in Mumbai comparable with Miami. Just like the port city of Miami on Florida’s southeastern tip, Mumbai is aiming to develop a floating restaurant and a marina along with the cruise terminal. The new terminal will have restaurants, retail spaces and will be open to local citizens for recreation, leisure and shopping. There will also be separate lounges for arrival and departure. The project will be undertaken in two phases, wherein by the end of 2018, we will be able to cater to 200,000 passengers. Post the completion by the end of 2019, the new terminal will cater to more than 700,000 passengers, with facilities at par with international standards. The operations and maintenance (O&M) of the terminal will be carried out on a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

Beefed up by strong set of numbers for the previous quarter and rising steel prices, JSW Steel announced in May 2018 that it will hike up its steel capacity by 37 per cent in the next two years. Clearly, it does not intend to relinquish its position as India’s largest steel maker to Tata Steel. The latter is now a strong contender for the title having recently got the NCLT’s nod to acquire Bhushan Steel, barring further litigation challenges of course. They have decided to expand our capacity from 18 MT (million tonne) to 24.7 MT, which includes addition of one MT at Vijaynagar and 0.67 MT at Dolvi unit, and also expand their downstream projects by 2020. Going forward, JSW Steel hopes that the 17 per cent growth in the automobile industry, 14 per cent in the appliances industry and infrastructure and housing sector growth will create huge demand for domestic steel players. In order to meet that demand, Tata Steel and JSW Steel are not only expanding their respective facilities but will also keep an eye out for more beleaguered assets going under the hammer.
We are honoured to be a part of the development of the country by fulfilling the requirement of heavy construction equipments.

The idea behind PM Modi’s ambitious Rs.5.5 lakh crore river linking project is to deal with the problems of drought and floods afflicting different parts of the country, while decreasing farmers’ dependency on uncertain monsoon rains. It’s a large scale civil engineering project that aims to interlink more than 60 rivers across India, including Ganges. The project is being managed by India’s National Water Development Agency (NWDA), under the Union Ministry of Water Resources. The overall implementation of ILR programme would give benefits of 35 million hectares of irrigation, raising the ultimate irrigation potential to 175 million hectares.
We are looking forward with new opportunities to contribute our best for the development of the country and be honoured by fulfilling the need of heavy contruction equipments at this project.
